Problems in the Country

An email I recently recieved:

I need advice please, having bought a property with 30,000 sqm, we now have the local estate agent selling part of our plot for building another house, we have the relevant papers, escritura etc, all logged at land registry. Since he originally sold the plots, he is re-distributing the boundary lines and stealing 10,000 of our land for another house to be built. town hall have told them they cannot build there, but they are selling the house in all its glory on the internet on several sites. advice, please please please please.....

Our trip to Extremadura

We took a short holiday to part of Spain that is off the beaten track. Extremadura literally translated means Extremely Hard, and with 50 degree celcius temperatures in Summer and near freezing conditions in winter its aptly named.

The property investment frenzy of the late 1990's and early 2000's in Spain is a momentous example of a sound principal grievously misapplied. The forces that drove the boom had more to do with the psychology of human nature than sound, rational economic argument.
